Surfest

The Airport has continued its long-term support of Surfest into 2010. The event to be held at Merewether Beach, from 2 to14 March, is Australia’s largest professional surfing event. Over two weeks, spectators can enjoy great surfing action and other cultural events, such as a food and wine festival, and art and photo exhibitions.

2010 marks the 25th anniversary of Surfest and will this year attract more than 650 competitors from Australia and around the world. Newcastle Airport is proud to sponsor this flag-ship local event.

This year, look out for Newcastle Airport’s very own street artist who will be decorating the concrete around the Merewether Club House with an Airport-themed masterpiece.

Tell us what you think

We want your feedback! Newcastle Airport has three electronic customer feedback systems located throughout the terminal.

Rate our car parking, terminal and facilities, or provide us with your comments and suggestions. Your feedback is important and allows us to evaluate our services. Newcastle Airport has implemented a number of suggestions that have been made via our customer feedback.

Complete a customer feedback survey and you will go in the draw to win a $100 Coles Myer voucher, which is drawn monthly. The electronic feedback systems are located in arrivals, near check-in and in the departure lounge.

More flights to Melbourne

Passengers travelling between Melbourne and Newcastle will soon be spoilt for choice, with three return daily flights soon to take effect.

Jetstar has reinstated a third daily flight on the popular route from 7 March 2010.

Want to escape the winter blues this year? Jetstar will boost its services to the home of sun, surf and the Titans from July 2010. Passengers will be able to take advantage of double-daily return flights to the Gold Coast from Newcastle Airport.

The new flights provide passengers with greater choice and are a positive reinforcement for future growth at Newcastle Airport in 2010.
