Community attitude survey

We value community feedback; and now is your opportunity to tell us what you think about Newcastle Airport.

Simply follow the link below to complete the simple 7-minute online questionnaire.

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NewcastleAirportCommunitySurvey

All survey participants will have the chance to go in the draw to win a $100 flight voucher.

Newcastle Airport has engaged Newcastle-based research company Key Insights to explore community attitudes towards Newcastle Airport, including the Airport’s services and facilities, its value as a community asset and how the community values the Airport’s Community Engagement Program.

All information you provide is considered confidential and will only be used for the purposes of this project. The survey results will be used by Newcastle Airport in its planning for the next two years.

Free wireless internet

Did you know that the Newcastle Airport terminal is a wireless internet hotspot – and it’s free-of-charge?

Connecting is easy. All you need is a laptop computer or any other portable device with wireless capability. Check your wireless internet settings and select the network ‘Newcastle Airport’. You can then browse the internet while you are waiting for your flights!

For those without a portable wireless device, we have five pay-as-you-go internet kiosks located in check-in and departures.

When it was time to decide on a name for our new mascot, Newcastle Airport enlisted the help of its In the Air recipients and local school students. The entries have now been collated and a winner decided.

Following heated discussions regarding the best entry, we would like announce our winner... ‘Captain Newy’. Suggested by the Chawner family, we think this is the perfect name for our mascot.

We think Captain Newy suits our kid’s mascot just perfectly. As the winning entry, the Chawner family have won five tickets to the opening Wombat Stew at the Civic Theatre, Newcastle.

Keep an eye out for the adventures of Captain Newy at our dedicated education website www.newcastleairport.com.au/education

Aircraft viewing

Newcastle Airport offers visitors to the terminal a better view of the arriving and departing aircraft in its departures lounge.

All airport visitors are welcome to pass through the security screening point into the departures lounge, where a wide, custom-built floor to ceiling glass window provides ample viewing of the tarmac and runway.

From here, you can see all arriving and departing flights, helicopters and maybe even an FA-18 Hornet.
